Electric City Bike Rescue
Electric City Bike Rescue will be at the Schenectady Greenmarket Oct. 1 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Our volunteers will be doing minor repairs, such as fixing flats and adjusting brakes, and teaching bike owners how to do it themselves.
Greenmarket attendees will also have a chance to make smoothies by pedaling a bike-mounted blender; and a chance to win a free bicycle in an art and essay contest.
First 20 people to bike to market get $2 tokens to spend at market.

Marynard Farms:  The beautiful, hot, sunny days make it easy to forget it’s apple season!! But apple season it is!! Maynard Farms has lots to choose from! With currently 20 varieties to choose from and fresh pressed Apple Cider, we’ve got something for everyone! We’ve got tart and tangy Jonathan, MacIntosh and Ida Red to sweet Macoun, Honey Crisp, Gala and and Fuji. If you’d like something different, try one of our heirloom or unusual varieties like Haralson Red, Blondee, Bramley’s Seedling or Esopus Tart. If you can’t seem to let go of summer, we have white and yellow peaches, white and yellow nectarines, blueberries, strawberries and raspberries for you!! Bartlett, Bosc, Seckle and Magness pears offer great variation in texture and flavor. Fragrant and flavorful grapes are just delicious – Concord, Vanessa Red, Faith, Joy and Jupiter. Don’t forget your veggies! Use Celeriac to add texture and flavor to potatoes, soups, stews and salads. Also delicious are colorful sweet peppers in yellow, red, orange, purple and chocolate brown, heirloom eggplant in beautiful shades of purple and white, zucchini, summer squash, kale, garlic, beautiful cauliflower in purple, orange and white and broccoli. There’s not much better to remind you of summer than a fresh picked heirloom tomato – stop by and see our beautiful selection of colorful slicing and cherry tomatoes – from sweet as sugar to more savory.
