Maynard Farms:  This week we will be celebrating the Gala! Gala Peach, that is!! True classic yellow peach and one of Tom Maynard’s favorites – great texture, flavor, juice and free-stone!! We will also be seeing a couple new varieties of summer apples – in addition to Pristine, we will be offering Ginger Gold and Dandy Red! Heirloom tomatoes are just amazing – so many colors, textures and flavors to choose from – cherry or slicing!! Of course we will have all of our other fresh and delicious products – white and red flesh peaches, white and yellow nectarines, white and yellow donut peaches, blueberries, several kinds of plums, blackberries, apples and fresh pressed apple cider, eggplant, colorful peppers, cucumbers, kirbies, zucchini, summer squash, curly and dino kale, fresh baby carrots, broccoli, beans, corn and garlic will all be available at the markets this weekend! Lovin’ Mama Farm: On our table this week: CERTIFIED ORGANIC pea and sunflower shoots, 10+ different varieties of micro green mixes, salad mix with edible flowers, red and green butterhead lettuce, red and green mini romaine, summer squash, squash blossoms, snow peas, ‘alpha beit’ israeli cucumber (thin skinned, crunchy and delicious!), scallions, fresh cut herbs (mint, sage, thyme, marjoram, italian parsley), purple kale, rainbow chard, edible flowers (nasturtiums and viola). Grown with love in Amsterdam, NY.

Mariaville Farm:  Happy Summer, Grilling ideas: Black Angus steaks, beef kabob’s, pork chops, pork sausages, chicken. Also we have eggs from our free roaming mischievous hens.

Maynard Farms Greetings! It is a wonderful season at Maynard Farms so far and we are excited to be able to offer the first tree ripened peaches of the year!  We will also have delicious plump blueberries and delectable apricots at every market this weekend. In addition we will have tart cherries, Queen Anne cherries, crunchy sweet red cherries, strawberries, raspberries, snow peas, snap peas, apples and cider. We are looking forward to seeing everyone this weekend!

This weekend it the perfect time to get your own garden started we have lots of flowers and vegetables ready to plant!

When your done in the garden have a picnic or BBQ with our fresh local produce, burgers and sausage.

Oh Corn!  AREPAS FOR EVERY OCASSION, An Arepa is a type of food made of cooked white corn prominent in the cuisine of Venezuela and Colombia.There are almost infinite ways to stuff an arepa, but all you need to know for now is that the average arepa has a 3 inches diameter and weighs about 200 gr. Eaten alone will provide you with approximate 19 gr of carbohydrates, 5 gr of protein and approximately 90 calories. It contains 5% of the daily recommended intake of Vitamin C, 3% of Vitamin D and around 1% of iron. All this value will significantly change depending of the fillings you will put inside. Because is a corn product, it is completely gluten free. Freshness is a given try the chicken, pernil (pulled pork) or keep it light with a vegetarian filling

Our last weekend inside at Proctors!

Spring is here! Join us this week for our last winter market at Proctors. The season went by like a flash and we are thankful to our vendors, customers and everyone at Proctors who help each week be such a success. See you this Sunday at Proctors for some great local goodies.

Please note this Sunday we will be in Robb Alley and the GE Theater.  Next Sunday, May 7, we will be moving outside around City Hall!
